September's Seasonal Stir-fry: Okra, Eggplant, and Peppers

Have you been seeing a lot of okra in your recipe feeds, at the farmers' market, or in the menu specials? That's because okra is in season. Also in season are eggplant and peppers. The wonderful thing about Chinese or Asian cuisines is that you can cook seasonal produce and use your favorite sauces and umami flavorings. This week in the market, I ran into some okra, eggplant, and peppers and invited them into my wok for a vegetarian, Sichuan-flavored September stir-fry.

Stir-fry Vegetables in Season (September)

What else can you stir-fry with a chili bean paste, fermented black beans, garlic, and soy sauce? So many things. When you use produce that is in season, your meal will taste alive with flavor! Here are some other vegetables that are in season this month and are perfect for a delicious seasonal stir-fry.
